Nova Scotia - September 18/14 - Mahone Bay

Thursday, September 18

Before leaving Lunenburg we drove to the golf course across the bay to get some photos of the town. The water was like a mirror, took in the local market and then made our way to Mahone Bay, a very pretty harbour town. A lot of shipbuilding history and such a charming main street. A retirement location?

Just picture perfect harbour town. A holiday destination for many people.

Such a colourful community.

A great little market featuring the local fresh produce.

It turned out that the little wooden boat on the left, is owned by a retired high school teacher that taught at the same school I attended. He retired here a few years ago.

The Settlers Museum is staffed by volunteers. Former Preston High School teacher, Graham D. is a volunteer and board member there. It is a small world.

All the very high quality pewter products are made here.

We're not much into pewter, but this was exceptional detailed work. Bought a small piece.

One last stop
