After a good night on the beach, we continued on the Fundy Costal Drive to the small, but touristy fishing town of Alma, and then checked into Fundy National Park for two nights. It's only a short walk to town from the Headquarters Campground.
Woke to a sunny morning as the tide was just staring to come back in. |
Today's destination was Fundy National Park. We took the scenic Fundy Coastal Drive and enjoyed the winding road along the coast and through the mountains. |
Not sure what to expect at this Sunday market. |
Everything was inside and it sure.... |
was small. Bought some fresh garlic, some treats for the grandchildren and some hot mini cinnamon donuts for us. |
Guess what their specialty is? |
The big attraction in Alma is all about the tides again. |
The low, looking up river and .... |
....the high |
Low.... |
....high |
This brand new fishing boat came in at high tide during the night. |
The young new owner was proud to show off the high tech bridge. |
Had all the comforts of a large motorhome. |

Molly Kool is recognized as the first licensed female sea captain. |

A perfect view from the campground. |

Ready to fire up the BBQ. |

Getting caught up on emails |
Monday, September 29
Lets see, do we want the 4.1km or the 34km route? |
Only hike the red section. |
We had intended to do the 4.1km hike, but soon came to a river which had to be crossed by taking off your boots and wading across. It was cool and nothing to dry off with, so turned back. |
Walked upstream to see if we could make our way across on the rocks, but no such luck. |
After the short hike and a lunch, we toured the area on bike. |
Quite the jumble of boats. |
Taking advantage of low tide for maintenance work. |
Time to head out. It's all in the timing when you have these kind of tides to contend with. |
