Newfoundland - August 22/14 - Shallow Bay NP

A good day to be on the road, as it's a drizzly, gray one. Stopped at Flowers Cove to do two hikes. Could see Labrador and the ferry going there. Ended the day at Shallow Bay NP.

Friday, August 22

There were many little fenced in garden plots all along the highway, in the middle of nowhere.

The same with the wood piles. There were so many it seems hard to figure out how they tell who they belong to. Some had sleds on them to haul them out in the winter time by snowmobile. This one is quite organized, many weren't.

Picture perfect. Lighthouse in Flower's Cove. The far shore is Labrador.

An ancient landscape

Marjorie Bridge

Returning with a good catch, we hope.

Resembling large buns

Prehistoric markings? Nope, just Grace's running show tread.

How's that for a travel lift! This is a hugh shipyard in Port Saunders.

Some are getting work done and others are just getting cleaned up between fishing seasons.

The man on bottom right of boat, give a good scale to the size if the fishing vessel.

Very dramatic lighting in the mountains by Daniel's Harbour

Tucked into our site at Shallow Bay NP

There is an amazingly long beach and some of the biggest dunes on the island.

Just made it to the beach as dramatic lighting ended the day.

Long shadows of the boardwalk

Everything took on a reddish glow

End to another perfect sight seeing day.
