( Finally getting blog up to date because we had no connections earlier. At a Library in Apache Junction now, to update, before we start camping at the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine State Park)
Left Burro Creek Campground and made our way south for a stop at Wickenburg and toured the museum and town. The Desert Cabelleros Western Museum was absolutely amazing-featured outstanding western art by the likes of Remington and amazing bronze scluptures, particularily the famous bucking bronco. Just magnificant. Left after a nice lunch and made our way through heavy Pheonix traffic. Rush hour in any big city is not ideal, but sometimes you just can’t control the timing. Arrived at our friends David and Linda at the Roadhaven RV Resort where they spend the winter at this upscale resort. Had supper with them the first night and talked over each other as all were excited. Got our laundry done, toured the resort which had everything to offer in sport and crafts, took in a very unique pizza place where the great Wurlitzer pipe organ music was the big attraction. Had lunch at a Mexican restaurant and hiked a part of the Picketpost Trail, a popular mountain trail with great vistas. Lots of laughs and were very lucky to have a spot right next to them for the three days. People would put out grapefruit for anyone to help themselves. Juicy and tasty. A very tempting spot to spend the winter.
Thanks Dave and Linda.

Just an amazing performance on the mighty Wurlitzer pipe organ in the
large open, two story pizza restaurant. Everything that you see are instruments that play along automatically with the
organist. |
